ASN Canada FIA is pleased to announce that the 2011 ASN Canada FIA Canadian
AutoSlalom Championships will be held at the Fort Macleod Airport in Ft.

organized jointly by the Southern Alberta Autoslalom Club and the Calgary Sports

Canadian AutoSlalom Championships Fast Facts:

Dating back to 1972, Canadian SoloSport competitors enjoyed a National AutoSlalom Day with
identically designed courses run on the same day on different venues across the country from
which national class champions were determined. At its height 890 competitors competed across Canada.

Due to handicaps such as different temperature, elevation, weather, and racing surface condition in 2000, a group of enthusiastic SoloSport competitors from across Canada created a single
national championship event, the Canadian National AutoSlalom Championships, which ran
through to 2002.

With the formation of the ASN Canada FIA National SoloSport Committee in 2002, the ASN
Canada FIA Canadian AutoSlalom Championships concept became part of the mandate of the
ASN National SoloSport Committee and the committee elected to hold an annual Canadian
AutoSlalom Championship event alternating between eastern and western Canada.

In 2004, the National SoloSport Committee created a national set of AutoSlalom Regulations and
in 2005, added a new feature for Canadian AutoSlalom, a formula for determining an overall
national AutoSlalom champion.

2007 saw the Canadian AutoSlalom Championship in the west when the event was held in Pitt
Meadows, British Columbia where the event was hosted by the Vancouver Chinese Motorsport
Club. Excellence was evident in every aspect of the championships and 132 entries vied for top
results.

In 2008 the championship was in Slemon Park, Prince Edward Island organized by Moncton
Motor Sport Club. The organizing committee designed a 1500-foot course that challenged and
delighted the almost 100 entries that attended the three-day event. Carl Wener of Montréal
turned in an exceptional performance and won the Canadian AutoSlalom Title as Canada’s best
AutoSlalom driver.

2009 and the championship visited its seventh province in seven years. The event was organized
by the Saskatoon Sports Car Club and featured over 90 entries over the two days of the event.

2010 saw a return to Quebec, with the event organized by the Association des Instructeurs en
Sport Automobile (AISA). 109 entries attended the 3 day event with Toyo Tires as the presenting sponsor of the event.
2011 in Fort Macleod saw 86 competitors attend the 3 day event co-hosted by the Calgary Sports Car Club and Southern Alberta Solosports club. Notable competitors included Alan Rae who's autox'd for 49 years and attended all events from 1972 and all western national championships. Mike Adams also raced his 1962 MGB which raced wheel to wheel 50 years ago in Fort Macleod.
